We work closely with the German Technical Training Institute, the Technician Training Institute at Katunayake, National Apprenticeship Training Institutes and universities. We help them to plan their training schedules during industrial training periods and provide in-plant training facilities for students who are following apprenticeships in the fields of refrigeration and air conditioning. We provide 3 months’ and 6 months’ industrial training as well as a monthly allowance, safety uniforms, meals and travelling expenses. Whenever possible, we also provide job opportunities to students who complete courses of study at the above-named institutions and organizations.
Our commitment to the environment
We are working towards creating a green environment, thus complying with the Montreal Protocol. We use insulated panels manufactured using non-CFCs. As a step towards controlling ozone depletion, we encourage the use of ammonia as a refrigerant in our systems. Customer awareness programs on better usage of ammonia are used in all our business endeavours.
Being the industry leader, we understand that it is our responsibility to invest in the research and development necessary to develop economically viable and commercially available refrigeration solutions to take us toward an HFC-free, climate-friendly world.
The elimination of HFCs from cold room panel insulation materials is part of a broader commitment by the company. Iceman is also currently in discussion with principals about using Co2 refrigeration systems which are designed to use less energy.

Iceman Paper Products (Pvt) Ltd. in collaboration with other divisions of the group initiated several CSR programmes at Ranavirusevana, the rehabilitation centre for injured armed services personnel. Our latest CSR initiative was the renovation of a ward at the Aniyakanda Hospital which is situated close to our factory.

All our products are recycleable, ensuring minimum damage to the environment. We are also actively engaged in developing environment-friendly packaging alternatives. Our patented paper pallet which is 100% recycleable is just one such result of these efforts.

We maintain close links with orphanages and homes for the aged located in our neighbourhood. Alms-givings and excursions for the inmates of these institutions are organized every year with the enthusiastic support of the entire staff.

We maintain close links with orphanages and homes for the aged located in our neighbourhood. Alms-givings to these institutions are made every year with the enthusisatic support of the entire staff.
Our commitment to the environment
We ensure that only bio-degradable components such as paper, cardboard, tin sheets and water-soluble glue are used for production. Furthermore, production waste is sold to recycling plants.
Additionally, the employees of the security division are deployed to cultivate vegetables in the open areas of the factory premises during their free time.
